Welcome to the home of ECEA Youth Racing, where champions are made and they have fun becoming one.
From the early days of the ECEA there has always been fast kids out there tearing up the Enduro trails, Michael Lafferty is one we all can remember, his father Jack (Senior) Lafferty is a life long member and is a big part of today’s ECEA FastKIDZ Hare Scramble Series, the future in ECEA Championship Racing.
Since the early days of ECEA Youth Racing, setting some deep roots were set back in late 1999 into 2000. The hare scrambles took on a formal organization and in 2001 the Youth Series was born under Brian Hartem, who believed in the kids are the future. In the first few years the ECEA had from 5 to 7 youth events per year. Around 2004 thru 2006 the Hare Scrambles series really took hold and so did the ECEA Kids becoming a part of the future, this was the snow ball effect that formed the ECEA FastKIDZ with the help of Ken Held and Rick Ford, our former youth leaders.
In 2016 another vision set a seed to grow in the ECEA Youth Series, Mike Sigety and a small crew set the wheels in motion for a Junior Enduro Series, this series has now evolved in to a Junior Sprint Series that brings another format of youth racing. The Junior Sprints are great for beginners, the race is a one person start, may be with a friends and against the clock with the option to take a break between loops..As with our hare scrambles the Sprints have Friday night camping, family fun, saturday racing and the option to stay Saturday night and enjoy the adult racing on Sundays.
2018 brings a new launch of the ECEA Youth Racing Series, Youth Coordinator Andrew Tsakanikas who has been with us a couple years has been tasked to bring the FastKIDZ up a notch, so it begins Andrew and his crew is bringing it….
Check us out, come ride with us and enjoy the fun, FastKIDZ style.
