Mission: The East Coast Enduro Association (ECEA) is a group of AMA chartered clubs engaged in the sponsorship and promotion of off-highway motorcycle events, and is widely recognized as one of the foremost off-highway motorcycle events sanctioning bodies in the United States. The ECEA is dedicated to the betterment of the sport of off-highway motorcycle riding and to providing the individual competitor with a quality, challenging event.
History: The ECEA has been established in 1972 and is the largest promoter of off road motorcycling in the US in terms of the number of events and membership. Our core strength was formed through organized enduro racing through our club system. Early on a few clubs organized national caliber events in both enduros and the onset of what is now hare scrambles.
Accomplishments: From the early days of enduros the ECEA has produced National Champions and international caliber riders. In the last ten years through the continued support of enduro and hare scrambles events, even more world class champions are emerging from the ECEA. The ECEA FastKIDZ Youth Series is the farm team of national riders for the future.
In 2013 the AMA, American Motorcyclist Association awarded the ECEA as Off Road Promoter of the Year. In recent years many ECEA clubs have been acknowledged and awarded by the AMA.
Benefits: Our calendar features 35+ events each year including family fun days, dual sport trail rides, traditional and national format enduros, plus our adult and youth hare scrambles series.
Our riders and members come from all walks of life and participate on a wide variety of levels – from casual trail riders to championship national and international competitors. We have something for all ages and abilities – from 4 years old to 80 years young, from noncompetitive trail riders to novice racers to elite level professionals.
Membership: The ECEA is based upon a club structure. Nineteen clubs throughout NJ, PA, NY, DE, and MD make up the ECEA. Our strength comes from the members in our clubs. We urge that you join one of our clubs to become part of the ECEA.
Anyone can participate in our events (club member or not), you will have to be an AMA member though. Joining the ECEA through our clubs will give you the “wow” factor, you automatically qualify for year-end awards, be involved in community efforts through the local clubs, you help directly with the building of the event, and you and your family can have more fun times and meet new friends.
Goals: The ECEA leads the effort to promote and preserve the sport through our legislative, educational, community service, and philanthropic pursuits. We love to give back to the people who support us.
